Artist Statement — Kinga Augustyn 🎻

“I play the violin to tell stories that words cannot hold.

For me, music is a place where emotion becomes form — where memory, longing, and hope return as sound. Every phrase I play is a conversation, sometimes with the audience, sometimes with the past, and often with something deeper and unseen.

I am drawn equally to the clarity of Bach, the fire of Ysaÿe, the lyricism of the Romantics, and the bold colors of contemporary voices. I love discovering forgotten music, especially from my native Poland, and giving it new life on the concert stage. I feel a special responsibility to advocate for composers whose voices deserve to be heard.

The violin has been my companion since childhood, but my understanding of it changes every day. I seek beauty, but also truth; virtuosity, but always in service of expression. I strive to play with sincerity — to offer warmth, vulnerability, and connection through sound.

When I perform, my hope is simple:

that someone in the audience leaves feeling lighter, understood, or comforted — as if the music had spoken directly to them.
